Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) is a general polytechnic university of technology, humanities, arts, and management. BIGC is among the first batch of higher learning institutions which were granted the right to confer bachelor’s degrees in China. Our university is privileged to have amongst its faculty members the president of the National College Printing Engineering Teaching Supervision Committee and the vice president of the National College Packaging Engineering Supervision Committee. In 1998, BIGC began to have the right to confer master’s degrees. Now, it is under joint jurisdiction of the State Press and Publishing General Administration and Beijing Municipality, with the latter as its main supervisor.
Carrying out its strategy, “A firm footing in Beijing, serving the capital, and facing the whole nation” in the printing, packaging, publishing and relevant fields, BIGC undertakes the mission of producing morally, physically and intellectually developed senior professionals of engineering， technology, management, industrial and art design, editing, distribution and marketing, etc. for the national industries of printing, packaging, publishing, etc. This institution of higher learning has primarily formed its unique characteristics of the integrity of engineering and humanities, and of the fusion of technology and art, and the cultivation of students with multi-skills; and its teaching quality，research production, and management proficiency are continuously improving.
The university has six colleges, three teaching divisions, and three research centers. The colleges include: Printing and Packaging Engineering, Publishing-Communication-Management, Information and Mechanical Engineering, Art and Design, Vocational Technology, and Continued Education. The teaching divisions include: Basic Sciences, Social Sciences, and Physical Education. The research centers include: Printing and Packaging Material Technology, Publishing and Communication, and Aesthetics. BIGC now has more than 660 faculty and staff members, including more than 330 teachers, amongst them, more than 120 senior faculty members. Fifty percent of its faculty have master’s degrees and above. Concurrently, BIGC invites 20 nationally and internationally renowned experts and scholars as visiting professors.
BIGC has the right to confer masters degrees in the following graduate programs: Communications, Material Physics and Chemistry, and Art and Design; and bachelors degrees in the following: Printing Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Automation, Computer Science and Technology, Art Design, Painting, Advertising, Editing and Publishing, Information Management and System, Marketing, and English.? At present, BIGC has 7,200 full-time students, amongst them, 100 graduate students, 5,300 undergraduate students, and 1,000 vocational students and 800 continued education students, and 3,000 distance-learning students. In the past 20 years and more, BIGC has turned out more than 10,000 graduates in various fields for the glory of the Chinese nation.
The BIGC library has advanced facilities, a collection of 540 thousand books, 850 Chinese and international periodicals, electronic reading rooms, an indexing room of Chinese academic journals(electronic editions), etc. Located on the BIGC main campus are the China Printing Museum and the Education and Training Center of the State Press and Publishing General Administration, which provide effective support for BIGC. The university attaches great importance to international academic exchange. It periodically sends students overseas for continued education; and teachers go as visiting scholars to such countries as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Russia, Singapore, etc. for further studies and for research. It has wide connections and close collaboration with world famous printing and publishing learning institutions, relevant research organizations, and enterprises.

Job description:
Weekly teaching 14 hours
Courses: Spoken English, English writing, Business English
Required qualification:
Nationality of UK, USA, Canada and others
Native English speaker, speaking English standard pronunciation and intonation ,
MA or BA degree
Teaching experience in TESOL preferable
Must have the ability to organize an effective and lively classroom atmosphere
Strong communication skill with students and high level team work spirit
Contract time:4.5 months, 12months
Monthly salary(RMB):5000~7000 (according to qualifications)
Official facility: BIGC provides a shared office with other foreign teachers in the Foreign Language Department, including computer ,printer and other office equipment and furniture for use only
Air fare: round trip air ticket less than 8000 for 1 academic year
Accommodation: free apartment with two rooms, one kitchen and one lavatory, including furniture and TV, air-condition, bathroom, internet access, cooking utilities for use only. Telephone, electricity, water and gas expenses will be charged.
Or foreign teacher arranges his own accommodation and will be paid 1500 yuan for all of these.
Medical treatment and Insurance: Minor illnesses will be treated at the BIGC’s clinic or Daxing District Hospital or Beijing Friendship Hospital If the expense is more than 200 RMB per month , the extra will be charged. BIGC pays Health and Accident Insurance for each foreign teacher.
Contract renewal bonus: An international teacher’s salary will be increase by 300~500RMB if both teacher and BIGC are satisfied with each other and agree to renew the contract for next academic year.
