 This University was established in 1983. As a key provincial institution of higher learning, This University offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in economics, management, law, literature and engineering.
This University covers an area of approximately 355 acres. The Guangzhou Campus is located southeastern of the city in the close vicinity of Guangzhou International Exhibition Center, and the Sanshui Campus is situated in the Yundonghai Tourist Economic Zone in Foshan.
This University boasts more than 13,000 full-time students and 600 professional teachers, including 280 professors and associate professors. 61% of the faculty members have master or doctoral degrees, and 38 professors have been appointed as advisors for graduate programs in some of China’s leading universities. More than 80 Chinese and foreign experts in economics, management or law are engaged as part-time or guest professors in This University.

This University offers 5 master-degree programs – national economy, finance, constitution & administrative law, procedural law, and enterprise management. Most of these subjects are of special interest after China’s entry into the WTO. Moreover, the subjects of constitution & administrative law and enterprise management are classified as provincial-level priority programs, and the specialties of marketing, law, accounting and information management & information system are listed as “brand specialties” in Guangdong.

There are the Economy & Management Laboratory (the first major laboratory of liberal arts in the provincial institutions of higher learning), the Research Center of Law Build-up & Economic Development (the key research base of humanities and social science in the provincial institutions of higher learning), and the Provincial Laboratory of E-commerce Marketing Technology (one of the provincial-level priority laboratories). What is more, This University owns such modern facilities as multi-media teaching equipment, mock courtroom, and language labs. Her digital library with a collection of 867,300 paper-back books is the most advanced library in Guangdong. The This University Net is connected with the Internet so that worldwide information sharing is possible for teaching and research. Many of the This University academic research results have won important awards in China.
This University is active in international exchange and collaboration, and has established long-term, stable partnerships with 40 institutions of higher learning in the USA, the UK, Australia, Japan, and Singapore as well as in Hong Kong and Macao. For example, This University has been undertaking a five-year “4+1” bachelor and master degree program with the University of Greenwich (England), and a four-year “2+1+1” double degree program with Menlo College (America).

Sample Contract
I. Party A This University wishes to engage the service of Party B as Foreign Expert. The two parties, in a spirit of friendly cooperation, agree to sign this contract and pledge to fulfill conscientiously all the obligations stipulated in it.
Ⅱ. The period of service will be from the day of , to the day of , .
Ⅲ.The duties of Party B (see attached pages)
Ⅳ.Party B's monthly salary will be ¥ yuan RMB.
V. Party A's Obligations
1. Party A Shall introduce to Party B the laws, decrees and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese government, the Party A's work system and regulations concerning administration of foreign experts.
2. Party A shall conduct direction, supervision and evaluation of Party B's work.
3. Party A shall provide Party B necessary working and living conditions.
4. Party A shall provide co-workers.
5. Party A shall pay Party B's salary regularly by the month.
Ⅵ.Party B's Obligations
1. Party B shall observe the laws, decrees and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese government and shall not interfere in china's internal affairs.
2. Party B shall observe Party A's work system and regulations concerning administration of foreign experts and shall accept Party A's arrangement, direction, supervision and evaluation in regard to his/her work. Without Party A's consent, Party B shall not render service elsewhere or hold concurrently any post unrelated to the work agreed on with Party A.
3. Party B shall complete the tasks agreed on schedule and guarantee the quality of work.
4. Party B shall respect China's religious policy, and shall not conduct religious activities incompatible with the status of an expert.
5. Party B shall respect the Chinese people's moral standards and customs.
Ⅶ. Revision, Cancellation and Termination of the Contract
1. Both parties should abide by the contract and should refrain from revising, canceling, or terminating the contract without mutual consent.
2. The contract can be revised, canceled, or terminated with mutual consent. Before both parties have reached an agreement, the contract should be strictly observed.
3. Party A has the right to cancel the contract with a written notice to Party B under the following conditions:
(1) Party B does not fulfill the contract or does not fulfill the contract obligations according to the terms stipulated, and has failed to amend after Party A has pointed it out.
(2) According to the doctor’s diagnosis, Party B cannot resume normal work after a continued 30 day sick leave.
4. Party B has the right to cancel the contract with a written notice to Party A under the following conditions:
(1) Party A has not provided Party B with necessary working and living conditions as stipulated in the contract.
(2) Party A has not paid Party B as scheduled.
Ⅷ. Breach Penalty
When either of the two parties fails to fulfill the contract or fails to fulfill the contract obligations according to the terms stipulated, that is, breaks the contract, it must pay a breach penalty of US $ 500 to 2,000 (or the equivalent in RMB)
If Party B asks to cancel the contract due to events beyond control, it should produce certifications by the department concerned, obtain Party A's consent, and pay its own return expenses; if Party B cancels the contract without valid reason ,it should pay its own return expenses and pay a breach penalty to Party A.
If Party A asks to cancel the contract due to events beyond control, with the consent of Party B, it should pay Party B's return expenses; if Party A cancels the contract without valid reason, it should pay Party B's return expenses and pay a breach penalty to Party B.
Ⅸ. The appendix of this contract is an inseparable part of the contract and has equal effect.
Ⅹ.This contract takes effect on the date signed by both parties and will automatically expire when the contract ends. If either of the two parties asks for a new contract, it should forward its request to another party 9O days prior to the expiration of the contract, and sign the new contract with mutual consent.
Party B shall bear all expenses incurred when staying on after the contract expires.
Ⅺ. Arbitration
The two parties shall consult with each other and mediate any disputes which may arise about the contract. If all attempts fail, the two parties can appeal to the organization of arbitration for foreign experts affairs in the State Bureau of Foreign Experts and ask for a final arbitration.

Appendix:
I. Party B shall teach Business English(Oral or Writing) for Party A no more than 16 hours per week, join in the English Corner activities on campus, tutor 4th year students with their thesis if necessary and give lectures on topics in which both Party A and Party B are interested.
II. Party A shall provide Party B with one suite with sitting room, bedroom, bath room, and such accessories as furniture, bedding, a television set, a refrigerator, a telephone, and an air conditioner.
III. Party A shall provide Party B with medical insurance (details listed on PICC medical insurance brochure) except for expenses incurred by registration, doctor's home visits, artificial tooth fitting, tooth cleaning, cosmetic surgery, spectacles, boarding in hospital and nonmedical tonics.
IV. Party B shall pay for the medical expenses on his own in Taiwan, HongKong, Macao and any other places outside of Mainland China.
V. Holidays and Vacations
During Party B's service for Party A, he or she shall enjoy the holidays and vacations as Party A's teachers do. In addition, he or she can also enjoy two-days off for Christmas and one-day off for the National Day of his or her own country. Party A will provide Party B with 2200 RMB yuan for the holiday travel.
VI. Leave for sickness and leave for personal reasons
1) To ask for any leaves, inform the dean of the school/department and obtain his/her permission 3 days in advance.
2) To ask for sick leave, a certificate from the doctor is required. If Party B needs to be absent from work (for a period not exceeding 30 days) with a doctor's certificate of sickness, he or she shall get his or her salary as stipulated in the contract. If the contract has not been cancelled after 30 days, Party A shall pay Party B half of his or her salary until he or she has recovered and can work as usual. If the contract has been cancelled after 30 days, Party A shall pay Party B 1500 RMB yuan.
3) Leave for personal reasons requested by Party B must be permitted by Party A. Party A is entitled to deduct Party B’s salary during the leave depending on the number of leave days (30 days per month). During Party B's working period, the total of personal leave should not exceed 10 days, and the continuous leave should not exceed 3 days. If Party B's leave exceeds the time limits, Party A is entitled to deduct an amount of two days' salary for each excess day's leave.
VII. The transportation within Guangzhou ,China used for Party B to leave This University shall be borne by Party A. Party A shall reimburse Party B RMB yuan for air travel.
VIII. Party A shall pay for Party B's phone calls to any place within Guangzhou. For personal affairs Party B shall pay his or her long-distance calls and faxes to any place out of Guangzhou.
